Planet Money explains the carbon tax
Many of us focus on individual changes–solar power, hybrid cars, recycling. But what could change the carbon equation on a macro level? Maybe the carbon tax is the answer. Listen to the audio, it doesn’t take long.
Welcome!
Welcome to nanfoster.com/global warming. I intend this site as a forum for people to share ideas about global warming/climate change, and steps we can take to ameliorate and cope with it. I welcome constructive, respectful discussions and will edit comments accordingly.
Here is what I wrote when I started this, but my viewpoints have changed:
Two years ago: “I feel this issue is so urgent, and yet sometimes I feel doubtful that we can accomplish anything. Sometimes I feel unsure about what actions to support.”
Now, I feel much more confident that we as a world can solve the problem. I know there is a lot of hope for a transition to a clean energy economy, and world leaders are making progress with the upcoming Paris talks. I think the changes will happen if we get large numbers of citizens to express that this is an urgent issue to them. Politicians will follow the people.
I will link to articles and commentary about climate change, actions, and organizations working on these and related topics. I welcome your contributions, too.
Here is one of the leading organizations working on reversing global warming. They have local organizations throughout the world, including many locations in the US.
